So another government IT project bites the dust with a loss of billions of pounds to the taxpayer. This time it's the NHS project to provide a nationwide database of all patients' records. Actually, I'm rather surprised at this one - after all, unless I've missed something, it was just going to be a database - a bloody big one to be sure, but just a database nonetheless, and they're pretty basic programs which have been around for a long time and generally work well.
